My bet is some new information (nothing major) in April coinciding with the birthday and the original release of the information about EotN and GW2. Arenanet seems to like anniversaries like that . If not, then sometime around mid July.
I also bet we'll start getting heavily inundated with new information at and after PAX, the kind of stuff we really want to see; screenshots, trailers, the works. Beta starting in October, then the full release of GW2 in April of 2010.

I give them until April to release one screenshot (not photoshopped random image) for us. This will cause major speculation threads lasting a good 50 pages each

Never! Actually, its already been released, its just they haven't told anyone yet.
In fact, if you rummage behind the old copies of The Sims 1 in GAME then you'll find it, its in a grey box with "GW2 shhh.. don't tell anyone" written in the corner.

It's just a good way to get away from designing new content for GW1.

They don't have anything to release. Really, they don't. We just got backdoor news about the engine they licensed for graphics two months ago. When I heard of the world.com lawsuit it all made sense. They are dragging their feet until this is resolved. There will be beta until ANET is told by ncsoft it is safe. No concept art, graphics or story has even been leaked. ANET hasn't even attempted to kill the vaporware claims. They are not above answering the charge, they just can't. GW2 was a safer bet before world.scum decided they wanted to test the waters with a small game to get a bigger payday with WOW.

You might find a hint here as to when:
http://www.guildwars.com/competitive...ishencalendar/
*the Zaishen rewards will repeat after it hits 1 cycle (12 months).
Though could change since Blizzard is playing the waiting game as well. And NCsoft is playing the juggling game with future games from the east.
But Anet, to start completely new in GW2, must’ve known that gw1 alone will not be enough to face the competitions. Game industry advances too quick. Not to mention after 4 years since the release of prophecies, the target audiences shifted dramatically.

I've lost faith in ArenaNet. I'm not expecting GW2 to arrive, like, ever. If it does, it'll be a surprise. >.>

Like it's been said before, either April of before that. I'm betting on the later 4 more months of this specially when the deal was we'd get some info before 2008 ended doesn't make a lot of sense... Unless they're really backed up on their work.

This will; come ..only when the other games that are in pipeline for release are
gone live and been running for a little time namely Aion
As this has gone live in Korea and won top award the release for this is been put as end of Jan to end of March 2009 for EU/NA
They also have another under construction as well as GW2 this is called Blade and Soul
So in reality you may find some sort of press release /information to come around midddle of the year...
Until then I doubt it very much they will give anything about GW2 as Business policy ....
This game has a cult following just like Diablo had so they will give it some Hype then

Looks like NCSoft has another few years before anything has to be released.

Hell Starcraft:Ghost had screeshots and even Starcraft 2 had multiple game play videos in the past 2 years coming up to its snail pace release. Like it has been mentioned b4, Anet lincenced a game engine in the the middle of this year. My guess is modifying the old gw1 engine wasn't panning out so they are having to start from scratch on this new engine for the past few months. I think this explain why there is no screenshots. And another thing i found odd was izzy's interview he only mentioned "future product", he never said gw2.
Also i don't beleive NCsoft can afford a snailpace developement title like blizzard can. I'm afraid if Aion flops in america, which i can see happening because it is a korean MMO, GW2 future may be in limbo.

Could be April or they could go the Steam/Value route and take their time telling us the information regarding upcoming games. Remeber we were suppose to get updates and news on Half Life 2: Episode 3 right now but Value hasn't said anything yet.
Hopefully A-Net will let us know soon.
